Hotel Korali, Boka Kotorska Bay, Montenegro

The Hotel Korali design process included the reconstruction and architectural extension of the entire hotel complex, the adaptation and reconstruction of the facade, the redesigning of all interior spaces, the design and planning of green surfaces for the entire complex, and the integration of the traffic infrastructure of the site, both motor and pedestrian traffic, into the existing city transportation system. The functional and spatial reconstruction and integration followed the specific morphology of the terrain and organization of existing architectural structures. The whole hotel complex, consisting of 3 separate building blocks, is designed in recognizable Yugoslavian-style modernism. Still in use for most of the year, the hotel needed to be reimagined and refreshed for the new type of customers, without destroying the building's distinct appearance.

The team successfully integrated three existing buildings into the new leisure complex through a set of ground-level connecting spaces, ultimately serving as the pedestrian artery, which allowed the introduction of additional contents into the existing architecture: a new stylish reception area, a set of diverse lobby spaces spread throughout the ground floor, and multiple service facilities, etc. A substantial enlargement of the fitness and entertainment areas, swimming pools, courts, fitness and wellness centre, has been planned. The reconstruction included the enlargement of accommodation facilities by two or more floors.
